How To Unblock Myspace

You probably have been blocked from accessing Myspace either in school or office before. It is very common as internet is so widely used these days and with free information easily obtained and available online, many networks including school, library, offices and workplaces are creating lists of websites that will automatically blocked its users from accessing them.

When blocking websites, most of the times, those social networking or media sites will be the first to get hit. So, you can expect sites like MySapce, FaceBook, Bebe, Xang, YouTube and many others to be blocked.

Most people have accessed and use Myspace, one of the more popular website. It allows user to write blog and communicate with friends and others in one place. It is quite frustrating when students, workers and employees are being restricted from accessing them as it blocked an alternative avenue for them to share and communicate.

However, users can still access MySpace and other blocked sites via web proxy circumventor or bypass firewall, as most blocking are done by content filtering the site’s domain URL (e.g. www.myspace.com) or IP address on outgoing traffic packet.

Tthere are a few ways to bypass the filtering control for website like MySpace and the other blocked site, depending on how the configuration is being set to block access to the site. You can try one of the following ways.

How to Unblock MySpace Using an IP Address

One of the ways to access MySpace when your network blocked you from doing so is to hit the site with its IP Address instead.

By doing so, you will first need to determine the IP address that MySpace is currently using. The easier way to go about is to go to www.dnscoop.com and type myspace.com into the search bar at the top of the screen. Click the ‘Check It!’ button after you have typed in the url for MySpace and wait for the server to help process your query.

If everything goes well, it will return you a page when all details about the MySpace.com website are being displayed, including the server it hosted on and the IP address. You will need to scroll down to the section with heading showing “Domain Name IP Report”. The IP Address of MySpace.com will be listed there. Write down the numeric number.

Next, type the IP address directly into the address bar of your web browser. For example, right now, my search shows that the ip address of myspace is 216.178.38.116, so, just by typing that number into the address bar of my web browser, the browser will automatically load the MySpace website.

The rationale behind it is that most administrators will block the alphabet .com domain and not the numeric IP address blocked, because IP address may change from time to time.

How to Unblock MySpace Using Google Cache

Another way to bypass your school or workplace block on MySpace is to utilize the functionality of Google cache.

Firstly, you will need to go to Google.com. Then, do a search for myspace.com. The MySpace website will be listed at the top of the search results. Now, don’t click on the link to go to MySpace as you will not be able to access if your network blocked you.

Take a closer look at the small hyperlink text called “Cached”. Now, if you clicked on that link, your browser will fetch you a snapshot of the MySpace website. That is not the live site, but, simply a snapshot of the Myspace website that was being stored when GoogleBot crawl the site. As these are snapshot files that are being stored on the Google server, you will be able to view Myspace.com partially.

Using of this method will actually allow you to read just about any site, but, the downside is that you are not able to log in to Myspace. You can just visually view it.

How to Unblock MySpace Using a Web Proxy

This method is used by most people whenever they are being blocked from accessing the blocked site.

To start, you will first need to find a free web proxy. A search on any internet search engine should bring you to a huge list of free proxy web sites. Okay, some of these web proxy sites will not work at all. This is because your network administrators are adding these proxy sites into their blocked lists too as they know as well that web proxy is a way to unblock blocked websites. Anyway, don’t worry too much about it. There are always new proxies opening, so there will never be a shortage of supply.

Now, assuming you have located a free web proxy, go to that free proxy site and most of this websites will show a proxy address bar and a Go button beside it. Type in Myspace URL into the proxy address bar and click the Go Button.

The proxy should then load a new page that consists of two frames or sections. The top frame contains the proxy site’s address bar, in case you want to surf to a different site. The bottom frame contains the MySpace web site. Ignore the top frame. The MySpace web site shown on the bottom frame is the live site and you can do everything you want normally.

If you wonder why you can access MySapce despite being blocked, the reason is because you are not connected directly to it. You are accessing through another server which is the web proxy. As long as your network doesn’t block this particular web proxy, you will be able access MySpace. But, if your administrator find out about this web proxy and put it into the listed of blocked websites, you will then need to start looking for another web proxy.

The trick is to find a proxy that very few people know about or best of all, create one web proxy that you can use by yourself (we will covered this topics in the near future)
